*RUplayerName - offline.

I have just moved into my new house and sadly my ADSL will take approx. 2 months to re-install at my new location. So the clock starts ticking...

So iNFinite and playerName made their way down to rAge on Sunday, this is their story.
We met up at the main stage to watch the CS semi finals. As we arrived, the MC announced that they are having some technical difficulties. We waited patiently, but after more than 20mins nothing happened and I decided to shout - "double click on the CS icon". Needless to say, the organisers and stage goers were not too impressed. The game eventually got underway and Bravado and zE played very well. It was Infinite's first time at any competition and I am sure he got bored with my constant commentating on what is actually going on.

We then decided to move on to the Telkom / Quake 4 stand and low and behold the one and only Fatal1ty. I was convinced that it will be a walk over, but I didn't account for players such as LostcausE and atr|GaRpY being in attendance. After chatting to GaRpY he mentioned that he beat Fatal1ty in the winner's bracket.

The most entertaining game from a spectators point of view was def. South Africa's Ph4ntom vs Fatal1ty. Ph4ntom kept talking trash no matter how badly Fatal1ty owned him. The first map went as expected, but the second map was another story with Ph4ntom making a massive comeback and finally losing with only a couple of frags. Impressive stuff from Ph4ntom, but I am still dumb found at his trash talking tactics. One priceless chirp including "Die you *** ***".

Well I was impressed with the overall quality of the rig setup apart from the main stage. I was hoping to watch the main games on the big screen(s), but this was not to be as they had a network problem. The dota was also mildly interesting, but the spectator value of this was zero as only one LCD was setup.

All in all, well done to all involved on a brilliant event. Telkom came to the party and Arena 77 and rAge put on a world class exhibition. Till next time...

CPL Announces Quake 3 for 2007 Season.

This is very interesting and I am wondering if the SA community will embrace this change? Will they actually start playing Q3 at their compo's? Well, we will wait and see what Arena77 and rAge have in store. Here is a link to the full article:
